Food comforts us and nourishes us. Food connects us and defines us. Sharing a meal with family and friends is more than just filling our stomachs, it’s about inviting others into our heart and into our lives, of stories shared and swapped at the dining table.
About Rachel Tan
“In the beginning God created…” (Genesis 1:1)
I believe every creative process is an act of worship. Through creating, we reflect the beauty and nature of Christ, the ultimate Creator and Artist.
My work is a visual representation of my thoughts and meditations. A lot of my artistic inspiration is derived from the conversations I’ve had with different people, having lived in and travelled various countries.
Another source of my inspiration is nature itself. As a child, I have always longed to live among nature. I love observing the life cycles that occur and drawing parallels to the human experience.
I desire for my work to mirror universal experiences and draw connections between people, place and thing. My hope is to bring light to the eternal truth in which we are all invited to partake in.

There is so much beauty and depth in words. Each has its own weight, but string them together with painterly strokes and they dance in a new light, bringing another dimension to its meaning.
YMI (which stands for Why Am I?), is a platform for Christian young people all over the world to ask questions about life and discover their true purpose. We are a community with different talents but the same desire to make sense of God’s life-changing word in our everyday lives.
YMI is a part of Our Daily Bread Ministries.
