At The Cross

/
My inspiration behind this diagonal cross is from Rembrandt’s painting “Elevation of the Cross”. This scene depicts men stretching their body to lift up the unbearable weight of the cross, with the chief priest, teachers of the law and elders standing at the right sneering. On the left, the disciples are grieving. May this new unique perspective renew our appreciation of what Christ did for us. (Matthew 27:32) (John 19:17)

At every juncture in life, we've given different paths to choose from. We often wonder: what is God’s plan for our life? What path does He want me to take? If we're walking closely with Him, we'll know the answer soon enough. Let's spend time to know Him intimately.

#TruthAboutWhoYouAre

/
The #TruthAboutWhoYouAre series was created to dive deeper into the Bible to discover who God says we are so we can live out our fullest potential. God has created all of us to do extraordinary things. You have what it takes to make great things happen. Not only that, you were created to do great things, according to Ephesians 2:10. Many times, we will feel like we are "not enough" or "not qualified" but those are just feelings. Our feelings are valid but we can't let them determine the course of our life. The #TruthAboutWhoYouAre series reveals the truth about who you are.

This month, we speak to different individuals and hear their stories--and struggles. Can you identify with any of these? Share with us what's going on in your life.

These are a few of my favorite quotes

Emily Barnett. Full-time photographer and painter, part-time writer. I love fairy tales and they inspire me, and so I paint about them or write new ones. Even in my photography I am drawn to the magical atmosphere that a session can have. I struggle with the idea that I want my work to be raw and brutally honest. There are some amazing artists out there that can bring you to tears with work that is graphic or depressing. And we probably need that to awaken us when we become lethargic.
