And when Jesus was asked, “Which is the most important [commandment]?” He answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” (Mark 12:28-30).

But what does all that mean when you’re actually pretty weak and battling with a chronic illness? How can we still love God with all our strength when it feels like we’ve got nothing to give?

Finding Strength to Love God When You’re Weak A lot of the time, I am physically very weak. In fact, a lot of the time, I’m too tired to move. Too weak to lift my head off the table. Too exhausted to make myself a sandwich. So loving God with “all my strength” often doesn’t seem like a whole lot of love.
