Think of a time when you invited someone over to your house, and wanted to make them feel at home—perhaps you prepared a meal for them or showed them some of your favourite things in the house.

If you’ve experienced that before, you’ve caught a glimpse of how Jesus wants us to respond when He knocks on our door. He doesn’t want us to just open the front door, only for us to make a beeline to the bedroom.

He wants us to spend time with Him, pay attention and listen to Him, and enjoy His presence.
