Freedom is not doing whatever we want; it is being freed from sin and freed to desire and do good. And being God’s slaves is not oppression and having no choice, but is about giving our life to the only true and good Master, whose lordship frees us from faulty human standards and fear of men.

Lord, help us remember—You have set us free so we don’t have to do good out of fear or coercion, but out of love and reverence for You as our good Master.
