Typography: 1 John 3:2-3

When we think about Christlikeness and see our sinful selves, we can sometimes feel disheartened.

But what’s amazing is God isn’t expecting us to “get there” in this life. While our obedience is crucial, transforming us is ultimately His work. And God will never fail in His work!

1 John 3 goes on to say that “All who have this hope purify themselves.” As one commentary explains, just by anticipating the day we’ll see and know Jesus fully, that in itself has a purifying effect on us.

In other words, just being excited about seeing Jesus already does good for our souls!
