When our eyes are fixed on what we’re missing, or the “better lot” that someone else has, we can’t help but become consumed with envy.

But when we keep our eyes always on the Lord, we see the wisdom of making Him our portion and our cup—and the security of knowing that what He has given us can’t be taken away.

Riches may come and go, nations may rise and fall, but the delightful inheritance that God gives us neither rusts nor fades.

He knows what we need to live a life that’s truly good, so let’s rest secure in His counsel.
