Surrendering ourselves, laying down our lives to follow Jesus, and doing everything He has commanded us to do—do these sound daunting and impossible to fulfill?

You’re right, by ourselves, it is impossible to fulfill these tasks.

But notice that as Jesus gave the great commission, He ended with these words, “I am with you always.” That’s the God we have!

He constantly wraps us up in His presence, never leaving us to do what He has commanded without His help and resource because He delights to accomplish His purpose in and through us!

Father, thank you for loving us through Jesus Christ, our High Priest and Mediator. Give us a heart that quickens to You so we may always be satisfied in You. Amen.
