Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life. John 6:27

Typography: John 6:27

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.” (John 6:26-27)

What’s the ultimate aim of your hard work? Is it so you can one day retire comfortably and not have a worry in the world? Is it to arrive at that “self-actualised” life so you can feel completely affirmed as someone of worth?

Are you, like the crowds in the Gospels, seeking only to have your fill here and now, instead of looking to the Bread of Life Himself for true satisfaction?

PRAY:
Lord, let us not simply be satisfied that You have given us the means to meet our needs, but awaken our hearts to see that You alone are precious and more worthy of pursuit than everything we do.
