Typography: 2 Corinthians 4:16
It seems impossible to think that our troubles now are “light” and “momentary”. It feels wrong, insensitive even, to call them that.
But these are words of a man who knew suffering, who faced so many harrowing, life-threatening situations.
As someone who’s gone through the worst, the apostle is encouraging us to not let what we see blind us to what we can’t see—the glories of the new heaven and earth, the perfect bodies waiting for us, Jesus reigning over all—they are absolutely real, and will eventually replace the broken world we have now.
And even now, in our failing bodies and flagging spirits, God has placed an unfading treasure—Jesus. He is not yet done with us, and He will not give up on us.
