Will you identify with me?

Fear can be a truly crippling emotion. It can leave us haunted by the “what ifs”, “if onlys”, and “I should have” that come as we second-guess our own failure to do or say something.

Joseph of Arimathea is a secret disciple of Jesus. Out of fear, he had not publicly identified himself with Christ. He feared men and their retaliation or mockery or even worst—their persecution.

Joseph was afraid of people—and sometimes we are as well. We are afraid of wagging tongues and mean-spirited looks. Hence, we are afraid to stand up and declare of Christ that “I am His and He is mine.”

As we wrestle with fear, let us remember what the Bible tells us: “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18 niv).

The paralyzing nature of fear can be destroyed as we surrender to the perfect love of the One who can cast out our fears.

Will you stand up and identify with Him today?

Speaks to me a lot, who knows i might react the same as Joseph of arimathea given the times and circumstances. Fear is indeed one of the enemy’s most powerful ancient weapons that is used against believers. Thank God that He has given us the solution so we can stand up and identify we Him.

I read ODB everyday, and one thing that it always reminds me is, be proud to be a Christian. Yes, we are all Christians, because we are all believers of God, but, not all of us are TRUE Christians. Only few are people receive Jesus as their Savior. I can say that I am a true Christian. I love God, and I am ready to walk with Him.
