This Month’s Theme:

What We Do With What We’ve Got

For we live by faith, not by sight . . . So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

Reflection

The bustling and stressful city life has made it easy for health, rest, and time management to slip through the cracks. Yet these words in 2 Corinthians 5 serve as a poignant reminder for me to refocus on God and steward what He has entrusted to me.

All the resources I’ve been given are meant to be used to spread His love and blessings to others. It’s a recalibration, a shift from self-centeredness to compassion. So I strive to honour God by caring for what He’s entrusted to me and letting them be conduits of His grace.

God didn’t just save us for life after—He saved us so that even our lives now could be redeemed.

The Bible tells us that we were created in Christ to do good works prepared in advance for us (Ephesians 2:10). We are to properly care for and use the gifts God has given us—our bodies, minds, time, natural talents, spiritual gifts—so He can be honoured as our Maker and Lord.

Do you still feel unsure about what exactly God has given you? Ask God to open your eyes so you can see how He has made you, and who He has placed around you for you to love and serve.

Reflect

  • How would knowing that we’re not just saved for heaven, but even for life on earth, change the way you live your life right now?

  • Topics to explore:
    • How to eat and drink to the glory of God
    • How do we make wise use of time without being enslaved to productivity?
    • How to discover/rediscover and grow my gifts
    • What does the way I spend/save my money reveal about my faith?
    • If I’m not “ambitious”/earning as much as I can, is that lack of stewardship?
    • How to know what cause/s I can donate/give to
    • How to ensure discipline and integrity in flexible/remote work arrangements
    • Does it matter that I’m being environment-friendly when large corporations aren’t
