I have always been a regular church attender, and am typically involved in one ministry or another. But there have been times when I wondered if being a part of a local church body is really all that important. I never actually stopped attending, but I have wondered at times, “What’s the point?”
About Jeff Huxford
We refer to our writers as “a bunch of 20 to 30-somethings.” Not Jeff. He’s 40. But most days, he feels a lot younger. Jeff is a husband and a father of 2 "tweens". He’s a family practice doctor who had to “retire” in 2016 after suffering a traumatic brain injury (TBI). His TBI changed everything about him. But then God changed his heart. He enjoys reading non-fiction books and watching his kids play sports. He is now a blogger, author, and speaker who loves sharing his story of “Finding Normal.” You can find out more about Jeff at jeffhuxford.com.

On May 3, 2012, I was in a near-fatal car accident and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury as a result. God miraculously saved my life that day, and also went on to orchestrate a recovery only He is capable of.
There’s nothing innately wrong with being proud of something or someone. Pride can be a good thing. But we have to be careful with it because it can become very dangerous when it’s misplaced.
YMI (which stands for Why Am I?), is a platform for Christian young people all over the world to ask questions about life and discover their true purpose. We are a community with different talents but the same desire to make sense of God’s life-changing word in our everyday lives.
YMI is a part of Our Daily Bread Ministries.
