7 Steps for Successful Christian Living
We know what success looks like and how to achieve it. Whatever form it takes, a successful life is one where we rely on God and draw closer to Him.
We are writers from all over the world who desire to make sense of God's unchanging word amid an ever changing world. We want to share our experiences of applying God's word in our lives and make our lives count for the one who gave life to us. Join our community. Write to contribute@ymi.today.

Some time ago, my brother and I drove to Miami from Florida to fix an item we had recently purchased. Although it wasn’t the first time we had taken this route, we decided to (once again) rely on the trusty Global Positioning System (GPS) on his cell phone.
I have something to confess: I was once jealous of my best friend. I didn’t mean to feel this way, and I’m not quite sure how it happened. We’d grown up and shared everything since we were young: our joys and tears, our secrets and dreams.
If you haven’t heard by now, Pokemon Go is the latest craze in town—it’s all over the Internet and media, and is dominating many of our conversations. Basically, this mobile game involves the trainer (that’s what the player is called) going around his neighborhood or city to hunt for Pokemon (short for pocket monster) using his mobile device.
Most millennials (myself included) take immense pride in sharing their daily lives on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram to display or articulate who they are and what they stand for.
I was shocked when I first heard the news: Mike Mohede, a 32-year-old singer who won Season 2 of Indonesian Idol, passed away yesterday at Premiere Bintaro hospital, Indonesia, from a heart attack.
We all know the unexplainable joy and completeness that comes from loving someone and being loved in return. But love can sometimes also cause us deep pain. Although we normally associate these feelings with romantic love, it is just as applicable in our friendships.
I used to be a very ambitious person. In college, I enjoyed life and worked hard to get what I wanted—especially when it came to grades. I wanted to be the top student so that others would look up to me. This came at the expense of everything else: God, family, and friends.
No one likes to suffer. We often ask, “Do I deserve this?” Why is there pain and suffering? And Satan sometimes uses such moments to evoke a sense of abandonment in God’s children, and make us misunderstand the love of God.
YMI (which stands for Why Am I?), is a platform for Christian young people all over the world to ask questions about life and discover their true purpose. We are a community with different talents but the same desire to make sense of God’s life-changing word in our everyday lives.
YMI is a part of Our Daily Bread Ministries.
