Typography: Proverbs 10:12

Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value. The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of sense. Proverbs 10:19-21

How many times have we felt the urge to have the last word?
How many of us know the pain of holding our tongue, of resisting to speak even when we know we’re right?

Being loving doesn’t mean we let people step all over us. But it does sometimes mean choosing to pause and not immediately respond, especially not in anger. It does sometimes mean letting things slide after some careful thinking, because you realise that saying more will not yield more good.

Because even if others can’t (won’t) see what is wrong, God sees and knows everything, and He promises to uphold the righteous. Where our words may fall on deaf ears, God’s Word and Spirit are more than able to convict and change people’s hearts at the right time.
