There may be times when we feel that Jesus is far away, because we cannot literally see, hear, or touch Him. And so the evil one lies to us by saying, Jesus isn’t really here with you. He’s not doing anything for you now.

It is not true.

Jesus promised to not leave us to fend for ourselves. He sent us the Spirit, who lives with us and is in us. The Spirit intercedes for us when we have no words, and He is always working to keep Jesus alive in our hearts and minds.

Is it difficult to see how Jesus is real to you right now? Ask the Spirit to help you experience Jesus again and trust that He is real and true.

PRAY:
Holy Spirit, open the eyes of my heart to see that Jesus is still present and ever so true. Help me to fight off the lies with Your sword of truth and to cling to the shield of faith. May Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross always be real and precious to me. Help me believe that Jesus is always with me, and He saves me not just for the life to come, but for now and always.
