Our Fathers’ Children

By Sheryl Tay, Singapore

When we were children, such were our days:
Sitting on our father’s lap, playing with the cushion…
“Fluffin’ it up,” or so he calls it,
When dust poofs and covers his face.

Because we are His children, such are our days:
Sitting on the Father’s lap, our joy is from redemption…
“Oh, we’re doomed!” And so He sees fit,
To save us, through faith, by His eternal grace.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. —Galatians 1:3-5
