Love Works Wonders

Love can work wonders. It could keep the poor and destitute alive through the generous giving of strangers.

Similarly, because of God’s great love for us, we became the beneficiary of a great wonder. God “demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

In The Message, Eugene Peterson paraphrased Romans 5:6-8 this way:

Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t, and doesn’t, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put His love on the line for us by offering His Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.

Indeed, love works wonders. While hard work and knowledge will get you close, and attitude will get you there, it’s the Love of God that will put you over the top!

    I love that God loves me and that Christ taught us ,not just to love but also , how to love. We’re not His slaves,but His friends because he loves us.

    It’s so true. Thankyou for this article, it is really encouraging. Lately I’ve been feeling very weak, negative and helpless in a particular situation I am living and which at present cannot be changed. I try to give my best but will only get over the top if I trust God’s love seriously.

    surely love is wonderful because when love an enemy like a friend it cause to transform them mind set and eventually become the best of friends
