#30DaysOfBibleLettering

Title: #30DaysOfBibleLettering
Materials: Watercolour and pen calligraphy
Description: I saw the #30DaysofBibleLettering challenge on my Instagram feed. It had been a while since I lettered and painted on a daily basis, and I was itching to get back to the routine of creating and having an outlet to reflect and relax. Also, the challenge started after Easter, and it was around Easter that I was convicted to cherish the Word more and share more vulnerably about what God has been doing in my life.

The first verse of the challenge was Psalm 27:14–“Wait for the LORD; be strong and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!” It was exactly what I needed as I had been so discouraged and sad after suffering a miscarriage. After some thought, prayer and discussion with my husband, we decided it would be okay to share through my art. The responses were overwhelming and encouraging as other women shared about their loss and strangers prayed for us. How amazing it is that nothing–whether our art, words or pain–is wasted in His plans!

I’m thankful for this challenge because it served as a daily reminder to put my hope in God and to trust in Him. I pray that my small creations encouraged and strengthened others as well.

I wholeheartedly believe that God fearfully and wonderfully created every single person with unique talents, gifts, passions, and experiences, and He is able to use these things for our good and His glory. In my case, God made me a lover of making, painting, and words. Before walking with Christ, I used these passions and talents for myself–to fulfill my secular worldview, my happiness, whatever I thought was cool, my glory. I’m so thankful that God’s been chipping away at this heart of mine and redeeming this God-given love.

I love these works and art and expression of creativity! I am, myself, inclined towards the arts and hope to be able to, one day, create something like these.
