Courage

By Calvin Woo

Fear is what draws us back most of the time. When we intend to step out from our comfort zone, when we are facing our greatest fear, when we are trying to change—fear is that one thing that draws our feet back to the door.

Bamp! You shut the door; breathe in deeply; eyes wide open; heart thumps like a bullet train. “What am I gonna do?” “What will people think of me?”

Self-consciousness and fear has conquered most parts of our lives. For example, in times of transitions, we would be overwhelmed with the sudden changes and sometimes we might get lost in the dark valleys of change. It hinders us from achieving great things that God has in store for us. We need to learn to be strong and courageous!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9 NIV).

When we are facing our fears or getting out there and doing something great, remember that God is always with us. He is greater than your problems and fears in life. He will be with us wherever we are. Open the door, take the first step and He will hold your hands and guide you to the way He wants you to go.
